SUMMARY
- Reporting to the Vice President of Private Label and Global Sourcing, the Senior Private Label Business Manager will bring strong analytical acumen and in-depth knowledge of Power BI and sales data to identify and evaluate important business drivers. Senior Business Manager uses SWOT skillfully with data and marketing information to quickly identify opportunities and market gap. Work with Directors of Private Brand on roadmaps to set vision and clear goals defining, executing, and managing Private Label strategies at category and product level. Senior Private Label Business Manager will collaborate with sourcing managers, merchant teams, finance, and brand management department in strategic planning, product positioning, pricing strategies, item selection, quality control, packaging development and promotion programs. To be successful, you need to have strategic thinking, able to dig out the data and information for analysis and can use limited information to plan and translate the strategies into real projects that can accelerate the rapid growth of Private Brand business.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Be the expert within the Private Label team on data and system matters. Bring strong analytical acumen and in-depth knowledge of analysis to the Private Label organization and lead the training to the team.
- Identify opportunities within the organization and develop a short-term and long-term plan for Gamestop Private Brand business by using data, marketing intelligent, industry knowledge, and customers reviews.
- Partner with sourcing managers to collect and analysis data including supplier strength and weakness, international sourcing trends, commodities and material costs trend, exchange rates.
- Work with sourcing managers, finance, and merchant team, to run cost saving and cost analysis on any new program suggestions and recommendations.
- Collect, analysis and assess the sales performance, industry and market trend, competitors and national brand landscape and assortment performance, through internal sales and cost data, market research, shows and exhibition, publications, online and seminars. Translate this information into actionable recommendation and suggestion to the sourcing team.
- Heavily involve and assist VP of Private Label and work with finance team on setting annual financial goals and 3-year long term financial progress planning.
- Partner with sourcing manager on identify opportunities and implement plans for line extensions and new product development from concept to launch.
- Develop and present Private Label roadmaps on categories level to Gamestop executive team.
- Must be a skilled and experienced “white paper” writer and be able to confidently present the data to Sr Leadership.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field or other with 5+ years relevant work experience
- 5+ years of related experience or 10+ years for educational equivalency
- Strong experience of using data to identify opportunities and building matrix.
- Passionate and knowledgeable on product life cycles on retail, e-tail, Consumer Packaged Good industry.
- Expert on translating data to actionable strategies by using business models and tools.
- Excellent in communication and collaboration. Proven ability to influence cross-functional team without formal authority. Familiar to navigate complex decision path and landscape.
- Proficiency with white paper, presentation, and verbal communication.
- Position is be based in Dallas, Texas(preferred), South Florida or Seattle, Washington.
- Strong excel and analytical skills for data analysis.
- Strong at data pulling, analysis and presenting the find with fact-based recommendations.
- Ability to identify process gaps or improvements needed, pull together different teams, discuss improvements, and help implement/monitor the needed changes.
- Help manage and lead weekly critical path meetings and hold team members accountable for hitting the required timelines.
- Help review current private label timelines and look for areas of improvement to speed up the timing and efficiencies from ideation to products on shelf.
