2020 has finally come to a close and we are in the first week of 2021. Despite the challenges and tribulations of the year 2020 has proved to be an exciting year of forced innovation. A year that saw events canceled and moved online also included record global attendance at our Covid19 webinar, Velocity Global virtual conference, and first annual online My Private Brand Sustainability Summit.

In 2020 the Private Brand industry shook off its long history of mimicry and stagnation and demonstrated strength, agility, and innovation. It’s with that spirit that My Private Brand is excited to announce the next level of our plans for 2021.

MY PRIVATE BRAND TALKS

The success of our virtual events and numerous Zoom meetings also forced our team to build the My Private Brand Virtual Event Studio. The studio is a purpose-built video technology space designed to facilitate cutting edge video and events. The studio will be used to run our four live online Summits and to produce video content. On Thursday, January 7th we will launch the first My Private Brand Talks a weekly interview series in which I will discuss the state of private brand, retail, and careers with retail executives and private brand thought leaders from around the world.

As we move into the year, we will add more video projects and series.

VERTEX AWARDS

As we announced last month our plans double the number of events — including four topic-specific online Summits and the annual Vertex Awards. The lineup focuses on the most compelling areas for the industry. The Vertex Awards are open for entry through the end of January.

NEW COMPETITIONS

In conjunction with the Innovation and Sustainability Summits, we will also introduce 2 new corresponding private brand competitions. Each will be focused on recognizing retailers, suppliers, and service providers who demonstrate excellence and leadership in private brand Innovation and Sustainability. We will announce the full details in the coming months.

Just in case that’s not enough we also have a number of other exciting projects in the works so stay tuned as the year progresses.
