Summary

The Brand and Marketing Strategy, Sr Manager will lead in the development of strategic, consumer-driven private brand programs with expertise in business planning, portfolio architecture, brand strategies, and marketing programs in helping to build brands that resonate with shoppers and drive profitable sales. An established strategist who understands the retail landscape and has experience delivering strategic recommendations that connect seamlessly to execution.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead in the development of the strategic planning process at key customers and provide guidance on short/mid/long-term plans
  • Partner with operations leadership, field marketing teams, and account leads in the development of proprietary portfolio/brand strategies and marketing programs that drive our customers’ businesses
  • Work cross-functionally to interpret data, research, and trends that impact the private brand program and develop actionable insights relevant to our customers’ business
  • Work independently with senior leadership at Daymon and customers to apply brand and marketing expertise to private brand business growth
  • Proactively identify business issues and solutions through close collaboration with account team
  • Engage directly with customers and business partners to develop meaningful relationships; build plans to improve engagement with key accounts
  • Understand company and team services to identify and develop new business opportunities within existing or new customers
  • Develop and motivate a strategic mindset across the team to continuously drive new thinking for the organization; seen as a leader on the team for advice, perspective, and support

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields of study
  • 5-10 years of experience in a field such as consulting, business strategy, brand strategy, brand management or planning
  • Experience in marketing strategy and/or digital strategy is a plus to ensure our work effectively reaches and resonates with the end consumer, wherever they access information
  • Problem solver with the ability to push others to think differently, attack issues from multiple angles and lead/manage through ambiguity
  • Leader who can effectively work cross-functionally throughout the organization and motivate others, including influencing without authority
  • Project manager who can balance the big picture and attention to details
  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate information into insights, strategy, recommendations, and results
  • Excellent communicator with strong oral, written, and presentation skills with capability to develop a compelling story and communicate it to senior management
  • Relationship builder who is comfortable engaging at high levels within an organization
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude who consistently delivers projects with excellence
  • Highly proficient user of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Advantage Solutions services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Job Duty

  • Design, sell and implement promotional programs that are fully compatible with operating parameters. Sell new programs to retailers, internal market leaders, and manufacturers
  • Effectively develop Pro forma analyzer within operating parameters. Determine and negotiate project components including concept, event, media, and POS materials and associated costs.
  • Identify and pursue new market/business opportunities.
  • Develop sales and marketing plan to achieve revenue objectives; lead team to deliver against plan.
  • Oversee research and negotiate with third-party properties, events, and media organizations.
  • Oversee and direct project management, program tracking, budgets, and internal and external communications.
  • Ensure overall effective and flawless communication to deliver desired results.

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required):   Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:    0-2 years of experience in CPG manufacturer trade or brand marketing experience along with field Grocery retailer HQ selling experience

·         Possess sales mentality with ability to create and sell marketing programs

·         Passionate about the business

·         Creative self-starter with the skills and know-how to lead a team to deliver results

·         Strong organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to effectively develop and manage a P&L

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Must be able to present effectively to large groups

·         MS Office Suite proficiency

·         Must be able to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
