Spanish grocer EROSKI has launched a new range of Retail-owned Brand (private brand) vegan products. The new EROSKI VEGGIE range responds to new consumer demands and food tastes and includes products that cover the needs of people who opt for vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian diets.
The new collection is made up of about twenty packaged and fresh food products, in addition to four that were previously on the market and it is expected that more will be incorporated this year.
“Our commitment to health and sustainability also seeks to expand the diversity of our offer so that consumers can find everything they need for their diet in our stores. There is a clear growth both internationally and nationally in the demand for vegan products. 44% of Spanish consumers buy vegetarian products and 7.8% of the population over 18 years of age residing in Spain is veggie. We want to create a space for customers who demand these products to come to our stores”, stated EROSKI’s Director of Health and Sustainability, Alejandro Martínez Berriochoa.
VEGAN CERTIFICATION
EROSKI’s new organic range of private brand food incorporates the V-Vegano seal, internationally recognized for labeling vegan and vegetarian products and services. It is a simple and reliable reference for consumers and with this certification companies promote transparency and clarity.
Some of the veggie sku’s also incorporate the ‘Euroleaf’ logo of the European Union. A badge that certifies that food comes from organic agriculture and livestock and that it strictly complies with European regulations that establish the requirements for the production and preparation of organic food, as well as the requirements for inspection, certification, and labeling.
