Amazon is one again under attack – this time from California and Washington who are reviewing the online retailer’s alleged use of third-party seller data to give its private brands an advantage online.

This past Friday The Wall Street Journal reported that the state of California is reviewing Amazon. That same day The New York Times reported that the state of Washington is reviewing Amazon’s also reviewing Amazon.

The move comes almost a week after ProPublica reported on Amazon proactively promoting its own brand products.

The legal reviews come as the retailer continues to use tried and true private label practices to build and promote its own brands.
