After the resounding success of the first campaign in July 2020, Lidl Switzerland is bringing the Lidl private brand sneaker back to the shelves. The strictly limited special offer also includes Lidl sports socks and Lidlettes – Lidl Schlarpen. The collection will be available from Easter Monday, April 5th.
Originally intended as an April Fool’s joke, the now well-known Lidl sneaker was produced in real life in autumn 2019 and offered in a strictly limited edition of 400 genuine Lidl sneakers in the branches in Germany. Sales in Switzerland followed in July 2020. The rush for the sneaker was extremely high: in most Lidl stores in Switzerland, the trendy product was sold out on the first day of sale and lines have formed in front of several branches. Due to the great success of the shoe, Lidl Switzerland auctioned the sneaker starting at the original price. The highest bid was an incredible 656 francs – 43 times more than the selling price. Lidl Switzerland increased the amount to CHF 2,000 and donated the proceeds to the Swiss Red Cross.
From Easter Monday, April 5, Lidl Switzerland will be bringing the product back to the stores. In addition, unique Lidl sports socks and Lidllettes (Lidl Schlarpen) will be available. The sneakers are available in sizes 37-40 for women and 41-46 for men and cost 14.99 francs. The cotton sports socks come in unisex sizes 35/38 to 43/46 and are available for CHF 2.99. The so-called Lidlletten are available in sizes 37-41 for women and 41-46 for men and cost 6.99 francs. All products are available in a limited edition.
