Activist investors Jana Partners is set to nominate two directors to the board of private brand food manufacturer TreeHouse Foods Inc. as they continue a strategic review.
The New York-based firm, which now owns a 9.4% stake in the manufacturer, has identified two potential directors.
- Former TreeHouse executive Chris Sliva, who was also chief executive officer of AdvancePierre Foods Holdings Inc.
- Wendy Beck, the former chief financial officer of Domino’s Pizza Inc.
Jana purchased its stake in TreeHouse in February and urged the manufacturer to launch a strategic review with a possible sale.
Jana, founded by Barry Rosenstein, has a long history of pushing for consolidation in the consumer space, including Whole Foods Market, Pinnacle Foods, PetSmart, and Safeway. before they were sold.
