Confectionery
We’ve heard that blonde is more fun and the Waitrose No.1 Hidden Truffles Blonde Easter Egg is a fabulous new addition to the their Retail Brand (private brand) range for this year. This luxuriously indulgent Easter egg is made with creamy caramelized white chocolate with feuilletine and fleur de sel and also contains a secret box of four salted caramel truffles hidden underneath for an added Easter surprise! Also new to the No.1 range this Easter are the Delectable Duo Eggs – each of these eggs is half solid chocolate (with a touch of crunch) and half smooth with a velvety filling, made with dark, milk and white chocolate in a variety of flavor combinations including hazelnut praline, pistachio and caramel & fleur de sel.
The super cute Sunny Side Sam is sure to be the star of the Easter show this year – made with white chocolate, this decorated fried egg might be too adorable to eat! The new Salted Caramel Carrots are great for egg hunts in the garden over the Easter weekend – made with orange colored white chocolate with a gooey salted caramel filling, these sweet treats will be a real hit with the children and the adults too.
Sarah Breadmore, our Confectionery Product Developer, says: “This Easter we’ve got some really exciting new Easter creations. Whether customers are looking for something a little more sophisticated from our No.1 range or fancy something cute and fun like Sunny Side Sam, we hope that everyone has as much fun tasting and indulging in our Easter eggs and treats as we’ve had creating them!”
All of Waitresses’ Retail Brand confectionery is made using Fairtrade cocoa and all the Easter confectionery packaging is 100% recyclable.
Bakes
Hot cross buns can be enjoyed at all times of the year, but especially for this Easter, Waitrose has some amazing new flavors. For those with a sweet tooth they have Sticky Toffee, Lemon & White Chocolate and Triple Chocolate, perfect when toasted with a light spread of butter. Or, for those who prefer the savory option, the new Hot Cross Brioche Rolls would be perfect with a tasty burger or part of a brunch over the Easter weekend.
Who can say no to cake? New to the Waitrose Entertaining range this Easter is our Easter Egg Drip Cake – a chocolate sponge cake filled and coated with chocolate buttercream and drizzled with chocolate-flavored glossy icing, then hand decorated with sugar-coated chocolate eggs that’s been designed and made exclusively for Waitrose Entertaining by the renowned Fiona Cairns bakery.
Heston Blumenthal
The master of curiosity and creativity has worked his magic again this Easter to create the Heston from Waitrose The Golden Apple. Inspired by Issac Newton and his discovery of gravity, this spectacular Easter ‘egg’ is made with shimmering blonde chocolate which disguises a layer of thick dark chocolate and also comes with six crunchy praline feuilletine chocolates.
Also returning this Easter is the Heston from Waitrose The Chocolate Scotch Egg, Eggstraordinary Hen’s Eggs and the Eggstraordinary Speckled Eggs.
