CMX, a provider of Enterprise Quality Management Solutions (EQMS) for supply chain management and operational execution, today introduced CMX1 for Grocery, featuring an integrated quality and Retail Brand (private brand) product management solution designed for grocers.
Available now, CMX1 for Grocery combines workflow automation and collaboration tools to enable grocers to scale their private brand offerings, improve product quality, manage risk, and ensure ongoing supplier compliance and food safety.
The new private brand product management solution streamlines and automates the end-to-end process for vetting and onboarding suppliers, authoring product specifications, and approving facilities for production. It enables grocers to collaborate with suppliers and packaging designers to bring products to market faster and more efficiently. With intuitive and easy-to-use digital forms, built-in and fully customizable workflow automation, notifications, and status tracking, it ensures consistency and accelerates time to market. In addition, CMX1 for Grocery offers supplier audit, document, and certification management support to streamline the ongoing monitoring of quality and regulatory compliance.
“The continued rise in popularity of private label offerings has greatly helped grocers drive banner loyalty, increase basket growth, and elevate the shopper experience,” said Bert Clement, CEO, CMX. “Coupled with all of the recent supply chain issues and the upheaval caused by the pandemic, the time is right for a fully digital, integrated approach to quality and private label management. CMX1 for Grocery is designed to help grocers scale their own brand programs; ensure quality and food safety; and increase profitability.”
Raley’s, an early adopter of CMX1 for Grocery, recently went live with the solution to manage their private brands across 10 categories and 60 subcategories for products sold at its 121 Raley’s, Nob Hill and Bel Air stores, with plans to expand to its affiliate’s Bashas’ locations in the future.
“CMX1 for Grocery has taken what was once a largely manual process across multiple systems at Raley’s and enabled us to have a single solution with standardization and automation for how we manage our private label program. With plans to expand our offerings, we knew we needed a platform that allowed us to scale our management and monitoring practices across product quality and food safety, regulatory and supplier compliance, and ethical sourcing,” said Elodie Thao, Senior Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager, Raley’s. “From ease of access and use, including for our suppliers, to increased organization and efficiency, CMX1 allows us to focus on what matters most to our business – our commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality to our customers.”
CMX1 for Grocery is an integrated platform for quality and shopper experience. It also provides for:
- Ongoing monitoring of quality and food safety across the supplier ecosystem. The ability to monitor food safety practices across farms, suppliers, distributors, and stores with a single view of audits and ongoing product tests, inspections, and evaluation results.
- Reduced shrink and speeding the resolution of incidents, withdrawals, and recalls. The deployment of quality management processes that ensure ongoing compliance with FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, and other food safety standards. Speeds the resolution of incidents involving people, equipment, or credit when quality and safety requirements aren’t met, and accelerates the business response to any food withdrawals and recalls, including item-level traceability–when every minute counts.
- Digitizing operations for every store. Centralizes Policies and Standard Operating Procedures, and lets grocers deploy them as digital programs with automation and workflows at every location, including the assignment and scheduling of checklists and inspections by shift, department, or for specific equipment, and for enabling internal audits.
