Waitrose launches Virtual Cooking Classes for Junior Chefs

Private brand takes many forms from packaged goods to fashion to immersive experiences, this week  The Waitrose & Partners Cookery School is launching a series of virtual cooking classes for children to help inspire a love of food, provide an opportunity to learn new skills and help keep mini chefs entertained during the summer holidays.

For budding little chefs looking to pick up new tips and tricks, to those wanting to master and show off their cooking skills, the cook-along classes will help children learn new kitchen skills while making tasty treats.

Each week, chefs from the Waitrose & Partners Cookery School will teach a range of new techniques – from pastry making to safe, basic knife skills – and talk about different ingredients and seasonality all while creating delicious recipes to share at home. Each virtual class will be limited to a maximum of eight households to ensure everyone gets lots of interaction with the experts.

Taking place from Tuesday – Thursday at 10 am for one hour throughout the summer holidays, the Waitrose & Partners Cookery School chefs will teach a different recipe each week. First up is Sausage Rolls – a favorite for all the family and perfect for summer picnics –  followed by tasty sweet Apple & Cinnamon Cakes.

Kirsty Scott from the Waitrose & Partners Cookery School comments: “We are looking forward to joining families in their own kitchens and helping to teach the next generation new skills and sharing our love of food. Our online Waitrose & Partners Cookery School courses have been incredibly popular through lockdown, so we’re thrilled to be opening these up to children as well.”

A full list of ingredients and equipment will be shared upon signing up to ensure everyone has everything they need to create the recipe.
