Heston’s Full English Sandwich arrives at Waitrose & Partners

For Brits who love a Full English breakfast, there’s a new sandwich from Waitrose’s private brand collaboration with celebrity chef Heston Blumnthal. The sandwich was developed to satisfy cravings for this most British of breakfasts. Available at Waitrose and Waitrose.com from 19th August, the Heston from Waitrose ‘Full English’ sandwich includes a coffee surprise alongside traditional Brit breakfast favorites including eggs and sausages.

Baked bean lovers will be doubly delighted to see double rations on the menu, with baked beans not only included in the filling but also in the bread which has been bar-marked for extra flavor. Sitting between two slices of the specially created baked bean flavored bread is smokey crumbed sausage, smoked bacon, free-range sliced egg, cold-pressed mayonnaise, tomatoes and cannellini beans in sauce – all finished off with coffee-flavored mushroom ketchup. 

Heston Blumenthal says “There are many reasons why some dishes become our favorites, they can be complicated masterpieces of culinary delights. But there are times when all you want is a Full English. So I looked at how to satisfy that craving, any time, anywhere and I realized the solution was a sandwich. If you’re looking for the best brunch-on-the-run, or just wondered what it might be like between two slices of bread, you’re going to love this. It’s even got the coffee in there.”

The Heston from Waitrose Full English sandwich launches in Waitrose shops and at Waitrose.com on Wednesday 19 August. Price £3.80,  with a 25% off introductory offer (£2.85).
